There are vacancies for how many posts, remember this time there are 979 vacancies, there are a lot of vacancies, you should prepare well for it, after that remember one more thing, if you talk about the pattern, then you all know my friend that there is a three step pattern in UPSC CSE, first there will be prelims, those who qualify well in the cut off in prelims, after that they will give mains and those who get good marks in mains will prepare the merit, after that what will happen, you will go for personality test interview, okay and those who are on the paper of mains, you all must know one more thing, there is a very big difference between prelims and mains, you have options in prelims, it is objective and the mains paper is subjective, so this time the mains paper is going to start from 22nd August, so I told you some things here, now the biggest question comes that when will the form start, that is, it has started from yesterday itself, from 22nd January.

Registration Process

The forms have started. When is the last date to fill the form? So please note that it is February 6 pm. Generally, many children think that this option is available till 12 pm at night. So, what do they do at the last moment? They try to fill the form. Remember that it will be available till 6 pm. One more point, remember that the centers allotted here are on a first come first serve basis. So, the one who fills the form first has the first chance of getting his preferred center. So, I have one request, do not leave it for the last time at all. All of you who have done the registration, please fill the form. One more point, very important thing, my dear friends, one has to do one time registration here. Basically, the benefit of one time registration is that once you have entered all your details, now you have to go to all the vacancies that come, you have to fill them and all your details will appear automatically in it. So, those who have already done this OTR one time registration, who have attempted earlier also,  If you have done it, then go and apply directly and those who have not done it, first do OTR i.e. one time registration, then what to do after that, you can apply for the form, okay, one more thing, now there are two things, one can be that you have made a mistake in your one time registration, then you can make changes in OTR once in your entire lifetime registration, once and in your application, it is possible that you have done something by mistake in your application, like for example, now this time the notification for UPSC 2025 has come for this exam 2025, you have filled something by mistake, some mistake has been made, then UPSC will provide you a window to rectify that also, let me tell you right now that when your last date ends on 11 February, after that you will have 7 days time when you can rectify any problem you have or if you have filled wrong information or something has been filled here and there by mistake, you can rectify it.  You can do this, this is also an option this time, so modification can also be done in the application form, the commission has said this facility for you that you can make corrections in your applications, so from 12th February to 18th February it will be open for you, see till 11th February you have to fill the form only, after that from 12th February to 18th February, that is, for seven days, this option will be available to you that if you want to make corrections in the form that you have filled, you can do it, okay, it is clear, it is important to remember this thing, please note down, firstly the last date and the date of correction, remember both these things, second thing that the candidates have to do is to apply online only, now to apply online do not go to any other fake website etc. this can also be a big blunder brother, anyway digital arrest, digital scam, cyber security, so remember UPSC online government.in, what will you do, you will apply on this only and   I have just told you what the candidate will have to do for one time registration, first he will have to register, this is a one time registration, after that what will you do, you will apply for the application, now there can be two types of candidates in this, those who are applying for the first time, they will fill the OTR form for the first time and there will be many candidates who would have already applied, would have filled OTR, so they only have to apply, okay, if the candidate has already registered in OTR, then he can proceed straight away for online application and if

Eligibility

let's say someone has not done OTR registration, then he will first do OTR registration, then where will he go to the next step of your form, okay now the second question is about age, so my dear friend remember that UPSC tells the age i.e. cut off date in its notification every year, so 1st August, 1st August, for example, if the form is of 2025, then the cut off is of 2025  The date is that on this day your age should be 21 years. A candidate must have attended 21 years of age, that is, what is the minimum age? You must be 21 years old. This is the first condition. And what is the maximum age? 32 years maximum. So at the minimum age of 21 you become eligible and the maximum age is 32 years. So this maximum is used by many children. So you should think that on 1st August 2025 you will already be 32 years old. Let us assume on 1st August 2025, how old are you? If you are 32 years old, then you will not be able to apply for this. Okay, it is clear that you must have been born not starting from the second August, that is, after 2nd August 1993, their name should be Germany, that is, before that it will be known that 32 years is fine. And after that if we see, 1st August 2004 is fine. So remember this. Take this condition within it, that is, what should be your minimum age, 21 years and what should be your maximum age, 32. So what is this cut off date? It is always 1st August. What can you do about that? What is there for those who belong to the Identification Caste and Scheduled Tribe category? There is one such allowance for five years and for those who belong to the OBC category, what is there for six years? Allowance means there is relaxation in the age limit. You will also see this thing, second attempt. Remember this also. So, for example, if someone belongs to the General category, then it is limited to six attempts. For those who belong to the OBC category, there are nine attempts. There is no attempt limit for those who belong to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe. You will also see this thing. And all the Divyang people, whether they are General, EWS or OBC, it is unlimited for all of them.  There are nine attempts for general, EWS and OBC, for the differently abled people and for SC/ST, there are unlimited attempts for the differently abled. So this is also the number of attempts. For those who are giving the exam for the first time, it is not that they need to think about it. But some children who are in their fourth or fifth attempt and they have to make a little decision about how my preparation is, then they should think about this attempt, whether it is my fifth attempt or fourth or sixth attempt, how should I give it. And if they have the age available, then they should think carefully and then give an attempt. Not much for those who are giving their first attempt. Secondly, one of the things that has been in the news the most is regarding the photograph. So this time UPSC has issued specific guidelines regarding which image will be used in the form. Which photograph will be used? So the photograph which will be uploaded has to be done as per the notification that the online application process has started, it should not be more than 10 days old, that is, the maximum can be 10 days old or even older than that. It is not that you are in January right now and you can upload the photograph of December last year. No, it is not like that. So remember this thing, that is, what they are trying to say is that it should be the latest photograph. So try to get the latest photograph clicked and in the photograph, like this one is not valid here, your name and date must be mentioned. So remember, the name of the candidate and the date on which the photograph was taken must be mentioned. Okay, the face of the candidate, that is 3/4th of the space occupied by the photograph, you should note it down. Along with that, you will see that the most important thing is that your appearance, like for example, take a small example, if you wear spectacles, then whether it is prelims or mains or interview, you should remain consistent at every place. Your appearance must match with their photograph at every stage, for example, if you have got your photograph clicked wearing spectacles, if you wear spectacles, many children wear spectacles during the interview, they wear spectacles while giving the exam, but while filling the form, the photograph they get clicked is taken after removing the spectacles, many children get their photograph clicked after clean-shaving, so remember that your appearance in your photograph should remain the same at every stage, whether it is prelims, mains or interview, personality test, first instance example was also given, if a candidate uploads a photo with a beard, then he must appear with the same look in preliminary mains and as well as in the interview, similarly he is wearing spectacles everywhere, it is not the case that you have got your photograph clicked with beard and after that you get your beard cut in prelims and go with beard cut in mains.  They are not doing it, they are saying that one should be consistent, note this point a little brother, this is important, then the second one comes, pay the fee, the fee is 100, but if you are a woman, SC ST or Divyangjan, then it is okay to pay this fee, if you are from general category and what is the name, from OBC category, then what will you have to pay in the fee, so I have already told you how much is the fee, there is a fee in this, but female SC ST and Divyangjan candidates do not need to pay fee in this, okay, now let's talk a little about the pattern of UPSC prelims exam, so my dear friends,

Exam Pattern :

You all know that the prelims exam has two papers, right, and they are on the same day, one paper is in the morning and one paper is in the evening, so in the two papers, one paper is GS General Studies which is called and the other paper is C set, okay, remember one more thing  Remember that both the papers are MCQ type and both the papers are compulsory, it is not that giving only one paper will be fine, it is necessary to give both the papers and each paper carries 200 marks i.e. GS paper one is of 200 marks and CSAT paper is of 200 marks, okay and the thing is that both papers have two hours, both papers are of two hours each, one in the morning is of two hours and then the evening one is of two hours, okay one more thing, remember one more point, there is negative marking in both, what is there, there is also negative marking, you all will also get by language and here remember one more point which I tell you to every child, GS paper one in which there will be questions of General Studies, which will be your paper in the morning shift, what is in it, friends, your merit is made on the basis of how much you score, okay, merit is made on the basis of that and the CSAT paper which will be in the afternoon is qualifying, i.e. you have to get 1th mark in it only then you can get through.  You will be considered qualifying, it means that it will not be counted in the merit, it will not be counted in your cut off, but if you do not get 1/3 marks, then no matter how good your marks are in GS, you will not qualify for prelims, that is, you have to meet the minimum criteria, along with that you will have to qualify well in GS, so nowadays a big problem is happening with many children that they are scoring very well in GS but due to Maths Reasoning Comprehension in CSAT, they are not able to score well and in their card they do not get selected in prelims and are not able to sit for writing mains, you will find many children like this, that is, you need to work on CSAT and this as well, now let's see a little bit of syllabus too, so if I bring you the syllabus of GS paper one, in which you will get two hours of time, there will be 100 questions and there will be 200 marks in it, please note this point, there will be 200 marks in it  It will be of one hour and there will be 100 questions, that is, each question will be of two marks.

Syllabus :

So, the first thing you will see is current affairs. So, how much of the current affairs are of the last one year? It is mandatory to study of one and a half years. It is also very good. History of India, Indian National Movement, that is, modern history, anti-history, art and culture, all these things plus you have to study Indian and World Geography. Physical, social, economic geography, along with that of India and the world, what is the name of volcano, earthquake. You have to read about all these things in it. Indian Polity, how is a government formed, fundamental rights, fundamental duties, DPSP, about the constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, rights issues, all these things have to be studied in economy. You have to work on sustainable development, poverty, demographics, social sector, all these things. You have to study general issues, that is, environment as well, you cannot miss it. You have to study the environment as well. You have to study science as well, you have to study science and technology as well. So, if I try to summarize this,  Let me try for you Polity, Economy, Environment, Geography, after that comes Modern History, Art and Culture, Anset History and Medial History, you can also see this, Anset and Medial History, you can do this, plus in Science and Technology, you have Current Affairs, all these things, that means this is your syllabus which you have to study and this is a complete current affairs, for your prelims, 100 questions will come from this only, I have already told you, all the 100 questions will come from here, after that, if we look at the syllabus of CSAT, then remember in CSAT, there will be 80 questions, not 100, but 80 questions, it will be of 200 marks and you will get two hours of time in it, so in this, you will be given a reading comprehension passage, you will read it, on the basis of that you will try to extract something from there, what do you want to say like this and this plays a very important role on reading skills, okay okay, communication skills, analytical reasoning, these  Sub-questions, decision making, general mental ability, basic maths questions, numeric questions, numbers, relations, order, all these things which you call quant, quantitation aptitude, it is written in the notification that it comes up to class 10 level, but since many children have left their link with it, they are not studying about it for a long time, then that problem is seen in it, so you need to spend a little time on CSAT, CSAT is qualifying where you have to get 33 marks, if you do not get it, then you will not be able to qualify the prelims exam, okay, you will also see this thing, let me tell you one more thing, the marks of prelims will not be added anywhere in the future, you have to qualify in prelims, after that you have to perform in the mains, now the main paper is subjective, I told you that this time in August the paper is subjective, that is, you have to write the answer, now there are some qualifying marks in this as well and its marks too.  Some marks are added. So remember that whatever marks you get in prelims, they have no value now. When you sit for mains, whatever score you make in mains, if you score well in mains, then you will qualify for the personality test. Then the marks of mains and personality test i.e. interview will be combined and then the final result will be declared because on the basis of mains marks, three times as many people are called for interview for whatever vacancy. Then the marks of mains and interview are added to it and then the final list is declared. So remember that there are papers in mains. First of all, remember that there are two papers which are qualifying. Their marks are not counted in merit. One is the Indian language. Any of the languages mentioned in schedule A, you can give an exam in any of them. There are 22 languages mentioned in schedule eight. After that, there is a paper in English. This is compulsory and along with that, this is qualifying. After that, it comes.  It is of 250 marks. You get 3 hours of time. Then GS paper one. In GS paper one, your history, geography, society, social issues, all these things come under it. In GS paper two, polity, governance, international relations, these are also of 250 marks. GS paper three, economy, environment, space, science and technology, GS paper for ethics. Okay, so that's it. Remember that this counts. This counts in the merit. This counts. This counts. This counts. Okay, remember this. Along with that, you all must be knowing that you also have to choose an optional paper. So the optional paper is two papers of one subject. Optional one is not two subjects. There are two papers of the same subject that you choose. And each paper is of 250 marks. That means how many marks are there for optional, 500. That's why I often discuss with the children that brother, don't take optional so lightly. It has 50 marks.  The combined total of both the optional papers is 500 marks. So you don't need to take it lightly. So what will you do next? When you qualify the mains paper, then you will go for the personality test. For example, if there are 1000 children, then three times that means 3000 children will come. The marks of the personality test of these children plus the marks of the mains are combined and then the final merit is calculated and from that, let's assume that if there are 1000 vacancies, then 1000 children will be selected. For example, if there are 979 vacancies, then 979 children will be selected. So this is the whole process which we are talking about. In the personality test, you have this personality test of 275 marks. The interview is of 275 marks. So this is the whole process, brother. I hope I was able to discuss everything with you from the beginning till how to fill the form, the syllabus. I have a suggestion that the children who are preparing for 2025, forget about the next four months. There is no need to do anything else. If you try to see the subjects that I have written, if you understand them, if you do these three subjects, then around 40 questions will come from here. If you do these three subjects with full concentration, then be a little aware, identify the topics a little, focus on the C-SAT, do not ignore the C-SAT, definitely take the test, a full- fledged test so that you can learn time management.
