The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Exam (CSE), famously known as the IAS Exam, annually for recruitment into top-tier government services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
Key features of UPSC exam:
Top preparation resources for UPSC:
We can prepare and target even better exams, but before moving forward, I would request that if you guys are thinking of preparing for APFC and E - exam and want a complete understanding about these exams, exam guidance, exam motivation, which you can get the idea that we have prepared for APFC and How EO exam is covered in our main courses. What is the opportunity for CGL students which they can target while preparing for CGL, meaning they do not have to do too much additional preparation, the preparation for CGL is going to be useful to 50% in this exam too and friends this exam is UPSC EPFO's APFC and EO exam, a very good opportunity for those students who have done their quant very well in CGL, have done very good reasoning, have prepared English very well, they know computer awareness and they also have a little knowledge of GA GK because with this 50% targeting of your EPFO exam is done, now friends read these posts.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is the authority responsible for recruiting staff for various posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India. The most prestigious SSC exam is the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam but SSC also conducts exams for CHSL, CPO, and others. Get to know about key features of SSC Exams for ssc exam preparation.
Key features of SSC Exams:
Eligibility: Graduation (for CGL), Class 12 or Class 10 (for CHSL, MTS).
Exam pattern: Multi-tier (Tier I, Tier II, III, and IV) with primarily objective-based questions.
Posts offered: Clerical, assistant, inspector, and tax-related jobs.
Syllabus: Quantitative aptitude, reasoning, GK, general awareness and English.
Exam language: English and Hindi.
Difference between CGL post and EPFO post :
Let's compare, what is the difference between CGL post and EPFO post and which post is better and which post should you target. So here when I talk about comparison, we have been comparing on the basis of different parameters. We compared UPSC exam with EPFO, then we compared State PCS and we are comparing CGL exam. So, when I talk about class in parameters, what type of job, what class of job will you get, when you qualify CGL exam, then the nature of your job will be class B or class C or group C. Sorry, in our country class A is class B and group C is group D. So you can get a class B or group C job. When you qualify CGL exam. If you qualify for the EPFO exam of EPFO, then you will get class A post because the post of APFC, Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner, is within the EPFO organization.
1. Prelims (Objective, Screening):
2. Mains (Descriptive):
3. Personality Test/Interview:
This exam is also being conducted by UPSC. The mode of examination for you here is generally CBT computer based test, but here you get a physical paper and OMR sheet, in which you have to mark the right answers, so this is a physical paper and this is a computer based test. If I talk about the job type, then the jobs you get through CGL are permanent government posts and generally they are ministerial posts. You generally get attached to some ministry or some organization, but when I talk about APFC, It is permanent, but it is a non-government and non-ministerial job, friends, it does not mean that this is not a government job at all. This is a job, which You people are getting a state organization, it is such an organization which is formed through an act and as such it is not coming under the direct control of any ministry but only under administrative control, so here you will find that the nature of the job is permanent and all the benefits and the job conditions are also available to you just like the employees of the central government but as such it is a non-governmental and non-ministerial job of APFC and EO, it is fine, let's move ahead.
If we talk about pay matrix, if you compare here, then APFC and EO will motivate you a little bit because, when you qualify CGL jobs then you get level seven generally i.e. seventh pay commission so the level seven of pay matrix becomes part of your salary and generally you get salary of around 60, 70, 80 thousands depending on your post during joining. When, I talk about APFC exam, here if you qualify the exam then your pay matrix will be of level 10 as per seventh pay commission and your in hand salary at the time of joining will be between ₹100 to ₹1200.
The SSC CGL Exam Structure & Syllabus
Tier I (Online):
Tier II (Online):
Tier III (Pen and Paper):
Tier IV:
Emphasis: SSC focuses on objective-type questions with negative marking, and time management is crucial.
You will also get to see the system of perks and allowances because it is written in their act that you will get all those benefits or all those perks and allowances which a central government employee also gets, so here you will get to see a very good job profile, If I talk about gazetted post, then APFC is gazetted, the other two posts are non-gazetted, CGL is also a non-gazetted post, APFC is yes and EOA is no, if I talk about exams, then you will generally get to see CGL exam every year, it is a regular exam, It is conducted every year, yes it may not have happened in some Covid years etc. But apart from that, you will see this exam every year, you will see it in a regular manner, so you can make it your plan A and can do very dedicated preparation for it and many times, you also get to see a fixed pattern that now the notification will come that now the exam will be phase one or now it will be two, so you have clarity, but here Friends, one issue is that the exam is non-regular and this is probably the biggest negative aspect of these exams that if these exams were regular, then these exams would have been much more popular, right now, you people probably do not have awareness about them because the exam is not regular because, here if you will see APFC, then it happened in 2002, 2004, 2012, 2015, 2023 and we are expecting it in 2025, EO happened in 17, then it happened in 21, then it happened in 23, now we are expecting it on 25, so this is a non-regular exam, so many times the children are also thinking about preparing dedicatedly for these exams.
They get demotivated because there is no fixed calendar and they don't know whether the exam will come or not. So there is a very long process for these exams. So, generally students don't like these exams. If I talk about vacancies, you know that there are a very high number of vacancies in CGL. Here, if I talk about APFC, in the last two times, if your rank is very good you can get home state, but after 9 years you will have to leave your home state and go to some other state, what happens here is that if you are in a higher post, then generally you guys will get posting in regional Whether it is an office or a main office, you get a chance to work there. You get a chance to work in Delhi, but here also you can get an all India posting. If I talk about the pattern, then the CGL exam is a two-stage exam pattern, where there is tier one, then there is tier two. In tier two, for some posts there are two papers, for some there is only one paper, which is a compulsory paper. So here you people have to give papers in both the tiers.
You have to qualify and your selection is done on the basis of the result of those papers. Now here if I talk about APFC and E exam, then their pattern is exactly the same. Friends, I am sure that here there is a recruitment test, you have to give an objective paper.
There will be 120 questions in the objective paper which have to be solved in 120 minutes and here each question will be of 2.5 marks. Then there is no second paper, that means there is no paper at every stage. So, here when you give the interview and after combining the marks of the interview and the marks of the recruitment test, if your marks are qualifying the final cut off, then you become APFC or EOA. Well, If I talk about the eligibility, then friends, the eligibility. There is graduation but in some categories, you will also see the age limit from 2018 to 27 for some posts. You will also get to see 21 to 30 and for some one or two posts. You will also get to see 32, so here you will see a lot of variation in the age limit and the most important thing is that for some posts. Here, you should have either a fixed field in graduation like if you talk about Junior Statistical Officer, then you should have 60% marks in your graduation, if you talk about research statistical research, then you should have economics background, so you will see some such conditions attached to some particular posts. Here, if you are a graduate and between 21 years to 35 years, sorry minimum age limit is not less than 35 then you are eligible for this exam and if you belong to OBC category, there is an age relaxation of three years, there is a relaxation of five years for SC and ST. So, here you will get to see that relaxation and if you are an EO exam If you are trying for this then here your age limit should be less than 20 sorry 30, you should be less than 30 and here also graduation is the only criteria it does not matter with how many marks the graduation should be done, in which field the graduation should be done, again this does not matter if you are a graduate then you can apply for this exam for APFC as well as for EO, if I talk about the number of attempts, then there is no number of attempts in any of the three because here you guys are eligible for your exam on the basis of age limit and you guys are eligible on the basis of graduation, if I talk about the job status then brother, it is a good job.
Difficulty Breakdown:
CGL APFC is a very good job and EPF OE is also a very good job, here you get to see almost 12 to 13 different posts, here you guys become Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner and here, you guys become Enforcement Officer and Account Officer and friends, If I talk about the difficulty level of the exam, which exam is more tough, which exam is more easy then you guys should see a relative skill of mine that if UPSC Civil Service Exam is 10 out of 10 in difficulty level that means this is the most difficult exam and CGL is 8 out of 10 in terms of difficulty level compared to UPSC prelims exam, then here between these two you will get to see APFC and EO exam, that means the difficulty level is also becoming very high here and if we see the paper of 2023, then the difficulty level is very-very high and friends, if I also talk about the number of applicants, no doubt. A lot of people participate in CGL. About four hundred people fill the form for UPSC every year. About 2-3 lakh students appear for the exam. But if I talk about APFC, last time 10 lakh plus people had filled the form. So, there is a lot of competition here too. You guys have to keep your preparation at a higher level. So that, you can rise above the crowd in this exam. This exam is demanding and quite challenging and you have to prepare well. Friends, after qualifying the CGL exam, you get many different posts depending on your score. You can become an assistant, an inspector in the ministry department, you can become an inspector of income tax in Central Excise and Customs, you can become a preventive officer, you can become a sub-inspector. You will get to see a lot of variety of posts. You can choose these profiles according to your profile and your interest.
