Other than the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in India, engineering aspirants can participate in several other entrance exams according to their preferences and the institutions they want to get admission. Some of the most well-known exams include:
1) State-Level Engineering Entrance Exams: Many states conduct their own engineering entrance exams for admissions. For Example :
- WBJEE (West Bengal)
- KCET (Karnataka)
- MHT CET (Maharashtra)
2) BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) -
The syllabus for BITSAT is similar to JEE Mains .
This exam is organized by Birla Institute of Technology and Science for admission in engineering programs. The BITS approves admission to qualified candidates for its degree programs. The admissions are offered at its campuses in Hyderabad, Pilani, Goa, and Dubai.
3) VITEEE (Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination) - The syllabus for VITEEE is similar to JEE Mains.
This exam is organised by Vellore Institute of Technology for admission to its engineering programs. The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is one of the most popular institutes for B.Tech exams to candidates seeking admission to B.Tech programs. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) provides different kinds of PG and UG level courses like B.Arch, B.Tech, B.Des., BCA, B.Sc, B.Com, MBA, BBA, M.Des courses.
4) SRMJEEE: The SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination is the engineering entrance exam for admission in SRM Institute of Science and
Technology.This exam is conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology for admission to its engineering programs. The SRM Institute of Science
and Technology, formerly SRM University, Chennai, will administer the SRMJEEE 2024 exam (approved by the University Grants Commission, India).
5) MU OET (Manipal University Online Entrance Test) - This exam is conducted by Manipal University for admission to its engineering programs.
The syllabus for MU OET is similar to JEE Mains.
6) State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai conducts the MHT CET 2025 or Maharashtra Common Entrance
